From the classic script to the 360º ​​script: similarities and differences

This year Ana is a Resident at Laboral Centro de Arte y Producción Industrial with a project. Make a fiction short film and analyze how the traditional audiovisual format, which we are all used to, adapts to the 360º format. This project is currently in its final stages.

The conference will discuss the similarities and differences, the resources that have worked for them and those that have not, as well as the conclusions reached when making this adaptation.

The main objective was to experiment with 360º video, virtual reality, the film script and apply them in a combined way in the production of a short film.

SPEAKER: Ana Bravo, CMO and co-founder of Waves of Virtual Reality 

Has been working in the industry for more than 15 years, specialized for 4 years in 360º video and its application in virtual reality. In 2020 he created the startup Waves of Virtual Reality together with Carlos Peña, developer and expert in virtual reality, carrying out the Christmas campaign in 2020 for EDP Energía.

Currently, she is part of a residency at Laboral Centro de Arte y Producción Industrial and Gijón Impulsa with the VR ex Machina project in which she worked on the film adaptation of the traditional audiovisual format to 360º video.

SPEAKER: Frank Bravoco-founder of Barcelona Immersive. 

From a young age, Frank began to record, edit and direct his friends doing extreme sports. Later, he started in audiovisual narrative at the Barcelona Film School.

He currently explores all 2D video, virtual reality and narrative media for video games. He is the co-founder of Barcelona Immersive, a collective of artists from different disciplines, 2D video, Virtual reality, Mapping, multi-camera systems, among others.

Mariangela Matarozzo

Graduated in Anthropology, HR Manager in market-oriented multinational companies, Founder and Director of the Innovative International Festival.

Her experience lies in the management of international cultural projects, culture  promotion, cinema and the avant-garde arts, marketing and communication and image strategies.

She has worked for many years as general coordinator of important international events and festivals such as L’Isola del Cinema, until 2011, when she conceived and founded MAshRome Film Fest, an International Festival that promoted and disseminated the culture of the “Mash up and Remix”.

Judith Guez

Head of Community Relations and Manager of the Laval Virtual program. Creates in 2018 the conference International Festival Art & VR Recto VRso at Laval Virtual. Her research focuses on understanding and creating illusions between real and virtual to explore new artistic forms, mobilizing the concept of presence and wonder.

She had exhibited many art works in various international venues such as: Art Electronica in Austria, GoogleLab, BPI Center Pompidou, Center des arts Enghien, MOCA Tapei in Taiwan, VR World Forum in Switzerland, among others.

Kim will explain the current trends in interactive narratives as well as the future of interactive design for digital spaces.

SPEAKER: Kim-Leigh Pontin, creative director of Nexus Studios.

Kim studied design interactions at the Royal College of Art. Her expertise lies in XR, interactive TV, emerging technology interaction design, and interactive storytelling. It also brings ideas of built-in interaction and speculative design to the world of television production and product design. He won a BAFTA, Emmy and D&AD for his work in interactive television.

She has been linked to the Observatory of good practices of Face to Face of the Spanish Fundraising Association since its creation and was part of the Executive Committee in its first stage.

She joined Greenpeace in 2018 as Director of Engagement, where she is responsible for the organization’s communication and fundraising strategies. In January 2021, he assumed the leadership of the new strategic area People Power.

Research #workinprogress: Accessibility of Extended Reality for people with reduced mobility

Virtual Reality to combat racial bias

This talk will focus on the use of embodiment techniques in Immersive Virtual Reality (IVR) to bring about positive change, and specifically, to address empathy. The emphasis will be given to the influence of owning a different race body on racial discrimination, a social phenomenon of increasing interest over the past decade, with concrete examples from the literature and two recent studies on how implicit racial bias can be modulated in the long-term and under different social contexts. Then, important ethical considerations that arise from the use of IVR related to the above topics will be introduced.

Member of the Experimental Virtual Environments for Neuroscience and Technology (Event) Lab, conducting technical research in virtual reality with applications in cognitive neuroscience and psychology.
