VR and fitness, video games to get moving – 10:00 – 10:30

Virtual reality incorporates new elements into the language of video games and allows exploring other forms of interaction. One of its most interesting and with great potential facets are rhythm and fitness games, a fun and enjoyable way to perform daily exercise routines, either alone or in company. OhShape is part of this new niche market that seeks to present the sport in an attractive way for all audiences.

Daniel Matas has a degree in journalism specializing in digital communication. In his work he helps spreading video games of different genres and styles, collaborating with independent projects and companies such as Firefly Studios (Stronghold) and OddersLab (OhShape).

This presentation will explain how to gamify several environments such as advertisement or training throughout immersive experience. Moreover, it will go through Adver2Play’s successful case with Scriptum, the first AR Escape Room in the world.

Senior Computer Engineer by La Salle (Ramón Llull University) and PDD at IE Business School. He has worked as a consultant at Accenture for more than 10 years and subsequently two years as Head of Digital Transformation at Servihabitat. In 2017 he founded Adver2Play in order to increase real-life experiences through VR / AR / MR. He also collaborates as Tutor of the “Aprende y Emprende” program of Fundación Prevent and ESADE.

We are used to hearing that RA are digital images superimposed on reality views through a mobile device. However, what about audio as digital files that provides additional information to reality? This talk will introduce the concept of audio in AR (augmented reality) geo-positioned to improve the user experience and increase the transmission of knowledge during the trip: the logic of this concept, the operation, applications to the tourism industry, benefits and way of reaching the end user will be explained.

Speaker: Rolando García, founder of Smartech

Graduated in Chemical Engineering. After studying an MBA and working for six years in business consulting, he founded Smartech in 2013, specialized in Augmented Reality Apps, together with his partner Gaetano Serrano. Since then they are dedicated to creating Augmented Reality solutions mainly for the tourism industry, yet they have important clients in other industries such as: Correos de España, Estrella de Galicia, RATP, Granini, among others.
